Commons on Demand ("Commons") is a venue for time-limited presentations of creative and cognitive work. By using it you agree to these terms.
Artists own their work. Commons is infrastructure, not a publisher: it does not commission, edit, endorse, or claim rights over anything presented here. Responsibility for a work rests with the maker who presents it.
Every cluster exists for 24 hours and is then deleted — files, pages, and media are removed from our systems after expiry. Commons keeps no archive of expired works. Do not rely on Commons for storage.
Commons has no recommendation engine, sells no data, and shows no advertising. Nothing you do here is profiled or monetized beyond the payment you choose to make.
Entry to a paid cluster is pay-what-you-can above a minimum set by the artist. Payments are processed by our merchant of record, which handles applicable taxes; the artist's share is split at the source. What you receive is a unique numbered digital card tied to that cluster and transaction. Because the card is a unique digital object and the work is time-limited, all sales are final except where the work was unavailable due to a fault on our side or where required by law.
What we collect from makers: name, city, and role — used solely to place you on the globe and label your work. An email address and password are used for sign-in only.
What we collect from visitors: nothing. No accounts, no tracking, no analytics, no profiles, no third-party data sharing. The only cookie-like storage is the session token that keeps a signed-in maker logged in, and (for buyers) a ticket for the cluster they activated.
Payments: processed by Creem as merchant of record — see Creem's privacy policy. Commons never sees or stores card numbers.
Infrastructure: media files are stored on Backblaze B2 until cluster expiry (Backblaze privacy); requests are processed by Cloudflare (Cloudflare privacy).
Deletion: expired works are deleted from storage and cache automatically. Makers may delete their profile and works at any time.
By creating a profile and presenting work on Commons, I agree that:
